We expect to lose people when we have a hurricane. So, when a Category 5 named Ian blew through, we lost people. But, not my friends. They were here and continued to be here, helping where they could. Not true now. They will leave as soon as they can.
Looking for Hope
Pronouncements that the only remedy for violence is more violence lead to a feeling of hopelessness and remind us that some define insanity as doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result. But, inside this hot, humid shop, there was laughter and joy.
So?

This is why I choose to see this differently. Not "thugs". Not black racists. Not a threat to civil society.
